Quirky Digits Let Your Frosty Hands Type Even In Frozen Weather

By Glenn Santos

Surprise, surprise, the touchscreen on your iPad/iPhone is getting harder to utilize this winter because of the frigid temperature. It’s worse when you’re wearing gloves and clumsily poking out an email. Gizmo maker Quirky were quite prescient when they stocked these Digits of theirs right in time for the holidays.
Quirky Digits 02

The Quirky Digits are dead simple. (Simple along the lines of Etip or Agloves.)You pin the round, uh, digits on the tips of your gloved fingers and ta-da! You can iPad away (or Galaxy Tab away). There’s no magic involved here, mind you, just tiny digits with safety pins and a conductive fabric surface. Once pinned to your finger tips (preferably the index finger and thumb), a tiny electric current is transmitted to the digits, making them touchscreen friendly. Like we said, dead simple.
Quirky Digits come in fours, each quartet costs a meager $13.99 and the cheapness may bring a few neat ideas to mind for the cash-strapped consumer. Ideas like why not buy several of these to give as gifts for Christmas? Sure, sure, friends will mutter about you being a cheap skate, but take it from us: Quirky Digits are a better gift than the unused Old Spice in your closet. Besides, it’s the though that counts, right?
